  “No, I shan’t hear a word of it - and put your coin away. It is always a pleasure to meet and recognise those with, shall we say, similar tastes to myself.”

  Jim rubbed his hand over his face, rubbed his hands in his hair. The blood was returning to him, as were his senses and he sighed quietly.

  “That was most accommodating of you, Ma’am. I thank you. It has eased me considerably after the last assignment I had an set me up for the next. You’re certain I cannot reimburse you for the damages and services rendered?”

  Madame smiled and dismissed the offer with a wave.

  “Absolutement non. You really must stay in touch, Monsieur Jones, once you return from your next assignment. I really do feel that there is the possibility that we could come to some mutually beneficial arrangement. Yes, I really do.”

  Jim raised an eyebrow before leaning down and taking Madame’s hand in his, he kissed the back. “That I will do, Ma’am. Thank you again for your consideration.”
